Eduardo Hochschild

EDUARDO (Lima, 1963) is a self-taught artist who has held two solo charity exhibitions. In 2018, he held a solo exhibition at the Revolver Gallery (Lima) and in 2024, "Fibers: Tension, Color, and Texture," curated by Jorge Villacorta, at the Livia Benavides 80m2 Gallery (Lima). A mechanical engineer and physicist by profession, he considers art a necessary complement to scientific thought. For 15 years, he has been experimenting with techniques such as dripping and, in recent years, has developed a broad body of fiber art work. He currently lives and works in Lima.

Fibers Series
125 x 125 x 7 cm
Natural fibers, reconstituted wood, and steel nails.
2025

"Creating an aesthetic object with fibers can result in a compressed, dense, and dense presence; or in another presence, which visibly has space trapped between taut threads like bundles that radiate or fold before the eyes. Fibers carry color and also provide relief and texture. When the object is dense, its presence is vibrant, but it rests motionless; when it appears airy and tense at the same time, the attraction of color, plus the temptation to insert one's fingers between the fibers, communicates nerve and transparency."

Jorge Villacorta. Catalog "Fibers: Tension, Color, and Textures," 2024.
